From Thailand we received a video that demonstrates the planned websites for the Oppo Find X2 Pro in animated form. This confirms all of the rumored specs for the camera flagship with two 48 megapixel sensors, periscope zoom optics and a high-resolution 120 Hz display. We like the much less inflated marketing than with the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.

Oppo has the launch of Oppo Find X2, the Pro model discussed here, as well as a smartwatch with a curved display and WearOS, but we already have all the information about the Galaxy S20 Ultra competitor, which has a very similar configuration as the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra offers, but apparently, in terms of marketing, it will obviously rely less on irrelevant frills such as 8K video, 108 megapixel sensor and 100x space zoom.

Decent marketing at Oppo
In comparison with the offensive Samsung marketing, let’s take a look at the product pages for the camera features of the Oppo Find X2 that are apparently planned (at least in Thailand). No, Oppo does not yet rely on 108 megapixel sensors, but it does offer two 8K-capable 48 megapixel sensors without advertising the feature 8K video, which is still rather irrelevant for most of us. The 1 / 1.4 inch 48 megapixel Sony IMX689 main sensor is optically stabilized and offers a 12 bit RAW option. Similar to Huawei with the Mate 30 Pro and probably also with the upcoming P40 Pro, there is also a second 48 megapixel sensor for the ultra wide-angle optics, here in the form of the Sony IMX586.

As with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Oppo also integrates a 5x periscope optic in the Find X2 Pro, but does not advertise grandly with practically useless 100x space zoom, but rather only with the 10x “hybrid-optical” zoom range, which is significantly more useful from a qualitative point of view , Digitally zoomed, a maximum of 60x zoom is possible here, luckily, Oppo, luckily, as we think, doesn’t even offer. Incidentally, the telephoto camera is also optically stabilized. For all video fans there is also Ultra Steady Video 2.0, a combination of OIS and EIS.

WQHD display at 120 Hz refresh rate
As with Samsung’s medium-sized flagship Galaxy S20 +, Oppo also uses a 6.7-inch Samsung OLED panel for the Find X2 Pro – but here with a display hole camera at the top left corner and not centered like the South Koreans. This display is obviously more rounded on the side than on the Galaxy S20 family, which maybe not everyone will like. In any case, Oppo also delivers a combined WQHD + 120 Hz mode from the start, which may also be available as an update from Samsung.

A recommended insider tip as a Galaxy S20 Ultra alternative?
Last but not least, the leaked product pages also confirm the integrated Snapdragon 865 SoC with 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, the dual mode 5G support (Sub-6 and mmWave) and of course the 65 watt Super VooC already known from the Oppo Reno Ace. Charging 2.0, which promises a full charge in just over 30 minutes. Specifications leaked yesterday indicated a 4,260 mAh battery, which would be a little less than the Galaxy S20 + or Galaxy S20 Ultra and thus a potential weak point, but the otherwise very promising feature set.

Whether the Oppo Find X2 Pro can now be recommended as a Galaxy S20 ultra alternative will of course also depend above all on the price that the Chinese will call on March 6th. If the leaked websites are also used internationally, you have to congratulate Oppo for the almost understated marketing. If you want to see the websites in an animated form, you can view the video below, from which we have taken the most important screenshots.
