With a 90 Hz waterfall display, 64 megapixel camera and 5G-capable Snapdragon 765, Motorola will soon introduce an interesting premium midranger, which is called Motorola Edge and will act as a sidekick to the flagship Motorola Edge +. First pictures out design and practically all technical data in advance.

It is now clear which path the Lenovo subsidiary Motorola 2020 will take with regard to high-end smartphones. The Moto Z series is stamped out, instead of the Moto G box office hits and the various Motorola One midrangeers, the two Motorola Edge premium phones will soon be available. The cellphone duo, initially also known as Motorola One 2020, will appear as Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge +, the latter with high probability as the flagship with Snapdragon 865 and 108 megapixel camera. Both Motorola phones are very similar in design.

Here we see a reddish variant of the premium midrange with Snapdragon 765 SoC, which has been modified and tailored for the purpose of source protection, and which has an integrated 5G modem. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display is very strongly curved on the side, which many have referred to as the “waterfall display” so far, and not everyone will like it. In addition to 2,340 x 1,080 pixel resolution and the rigid 90 Hz mode, Motorola also offers an AI-optimized car mode for 60/90 Hz mixed operation. In contrast to other manufacturers, Motorola also uses a physical on / off switch and volume rocker, a micro-SD slot and a 3.5 mm jack are still installed, but the fingerprint sensor is modern under the display.

A 25-megapixel sensor was installed as the punchhole selfie cam, the back is adorned with a Motorola logo and the triple cam with a 64-megapixel main sensor, 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 8-megapixel telephoto camera. NFC and stereo speakers are on board, the battery holds 4,500 mAh. The variant leaked here offers 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage but no wireless charging. It will probably not be too long before Motorola will officially present the Edge + and the Motorola Edge, a launch in Europe is likely, but so far it has only been confirmed for the mobile phone provider Verizon in the USA.
