The Huawei subsidiary Honor has donated ten smartphones to the update to Android 10, including the Honor 20, the 20 Pro and the View 20. Users also receive EMUI 10 and the new Magic UI 3.0 user interface directly. The rollout should start this week.
Huawei Honor has confirmed that at least ten smartphones will receive the upgrade to Android 10. The update for the Honor 20 (from 325 euros on Amazon), the Honor 20 Pro (from 399 euros on Amazon) and the Honor View 20 (from 369 euros on Amazon) should be distributed from the end of this week, whereby Honor has no detailed information Has given information about the exact schedule for different regions. The Honor 9X and 9X Pro should also receive the update “soon”.
With the Honor 8X, 10, 10 Lite, 20 Lite and View 10, the update to EMUI 10 is still in development, but the company promises that sooner or later these devices will also be updated to the latest software.
The Honor 8A, 8A Pro, Honor Play and Play 8A are still missing from this list. The four smartphones will have to stay with Android 9 Pie at least for the foreseeable future. It is not clear whether they will receive an update to the latest, large Android version at all.
Magic UI 3.0 is designed to make smartphone navigation easier by using new gestures and adapting the design to make content more readable and understandable. The camera app gets a more modern look, the use of zoom should now be much more intuitive. To improve security, the system now supports app sandboxing.
