Honor MagicBooks have been around in China for a long time, and cheaper laptops are also becoming increasingly popular outside of Honor’s home market.

Whether we really need two laptops from Huawei and Honor that are configured practically the same and look identical except for the logos is of course questionable, but the Huawei Honor duo may want to ensure more market penetration now that the smartphone area has become a little more difficult , However, the two Windows laptops MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 presented today in Barcelona correspond practically in detail to the already official Huawei MateBooks MateBook D14 and MateBook D15, to which all official specs have recently become known.

Both the Huawei MateBooks and the two new MagicBooks from Honor use the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U and 14 or 15.6-inch full HD IPS panels in 16: 9 format. At 1.38 kg, the MagicBook 14 is of course slightly lighter than the 1.53 kg MateBook 15, even if, like the Huawei laptops, the larger 56 Wh battery is in the 14-inch device, compared to 42 Wh in the MagicBook 15. Both MagicBooks are equipped with 8 GB RAM and 256 or 512 GB PCIe-SSD and each offer two USB-A ports, USB-C, HDMI and 3.5 mm jack. No information is currently available on prices and availability of Honor laptops in the colors Mystic Silver or Space Gray in Germany and Austria.

The MagicBook series starts with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage for 599 euros, further prices are still not available.

The announcement that the AMD Ryzen variants of MateBook 14 and MateBook 15 already available in China are coming to us is a while ago – but little has happened since then. Now the first German data sheets are available, which we do not want to keep from you.
