The Mediatek Dimensity 820 in the Redmi 10X 5G outclasses the test competition

The Redmi 10X 5G is the first smartphone ever to use the new Mediatek Dimensity 820. And this choice proves to be a very good choice in our test. In the benchmarks, the Redmi 10X partly outclasses the smartphone competition and the Taiwanese manufacturer has also worked on efficiency.

The 5G version of the Redmi 10X is shown in our test report, also thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 820, as an exciting mid-range cell phone in the lower price segment. The new mid-range MediaTek SoC, consisting of four fast ARM Cortex-A76 cores and four power-saving cores of the Cortex-A55 type, integrates a Mali G57 with 5 cores as a graphics card.

The relatively high performance makes the inexpensive MediaTek processor interesting. In combination with 8 GB LPDDR4x dual-channel memory, the Dimensity 820 in our test device ensures high performance.

In our comparison field of our test, the Redmi 10X 5G itself dominates the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G and a Snapdragon 765G in the Oppo Find X2 Neo has to admit defeat to the Redmi 10X. The values in our CPU benchmark measurements are almost at the level of a Xiaomi Mi 9 with last year’s Qualcomm flagship SoC Snapdragon 855.

It should also be noted here that the heat development inside the Redmi 10X 5G leads to a slight reduction in the performance of the MediaTek SoC. Using the Manhattan 3.1 test of the GFXBench app, it becomes clear that the frame number drops by around 15 percent with increasing load, so that the benchmark results could have been even better.

The system speed of the Redmi 10X 5G is also very good. The operation is fluid in everyday life and there are almost no stuttering. Thanks to the very fast UFS 2.1 storage, applications open without major delays.

Would you like to see the benchmark results in detail or get a detailed impression of the Redmi 10X 5G? Then we recommend our review of the Xiaomi smartphone.
