TCL announces the availability of its Alcatel 3X (2020) 6.52-inch smartphone in the 200 euro class. The Alcatel 3X 2020, which has been revised compared to the previous year’s model, now has a quad camera and a more powerful 5,000 mAh battery instead of a triple camera.
The Chinese entertainment electronics giant TCL has given its 6.52-inch smartphone Alcatel 3X another refresh in the entry-level class. As in previous years, the Alcatel 3X (2020) of the current year receives a few significant improvements in the integrated cameras and the battery.
The Alcatel 3X (2020) is now presented as an Alcatel 3X 6/128 GB (RAM / ROM) with a 48 MP quad camera (48 MP AI / 5 MP ultra wide angle / 2 MP macro / 2 MP depth camera) and a selfie camera with a 13 MP sensor on the front. According to the manufacturer, the built-in 5,000 mAh battery is enough for a talk time of up to 31 hours and supports reverse charging. Charging is via USB-C.
TCL has not changed anything on the display of the Alcatel 3X (2020). As in the previous year’s model, the refreshed version also integrates a 6.52-inch IPS panel with a narrow frame and a screen-to-body ratio of 89 percent. The resolution also remains the same at 1,600 x 720 pixels. Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB Type-C port and Android 10 as a mobile OS complete the features of the Alcatel 3X (2020).
The Alcatel 3X (2020) costs around 200 euros (RRP) and will be available from September 2020 in the colors “Jewelry Black” and “Jewelry Green”. The current Alcatel 3X (2020) has to be compared to a number of strong competitors like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 in the 200 euro class. For example, the Redmi Note 9 at Amazon.de with 128 GB in “Forest Green” costs around 163 euros, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 6/128 GB for around 240 euros.
