Despite some, and in some cases very specific, reports, there was no announcement yesterday evening for the Samsung Unpacked – namely that of a new smartwatch, instead new smartwatches and headphones were announced. The company has added a new version of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 to the range without much fuss.

Specifically, the aluminum variant of the Galaxy Watch Active with LTE represents a particularly inexpensive entry into the world of Samsung smartwatches with LTE, so buyers interested in an independent mobile phone connection have previously had to use the stainless steel variant. However, the Galaxy Watch with LTE, which is available in the 42-millimeter version, starts at 244 euros and is a bit cheaper.

The version of the Galaxy Watch Active equipped with aluminum and LTE is also available in four colors and two sizes. The 40-millimeter version is available from the manufacturer from 349 euros, the 44-millimeter version costs 20 euros more. The stainless steel version costs 100 euros more.

Basically, Samsung wants to convince with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 with a slim design, which offers extensive functions for recording sporting activities. A heart rate sensor is part of the equipment as well as the possibility of inductive charging. Thanks to IP68 certification, both involuntary and voluntary swimming units should lose their fear.

The 1.2-inch display has a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, and the Super AMOLED panel can display 16 million colors. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 with LTE and aluminum is now also available directly from the manufacturer.
